Limestone vs. Gravel: Limestone is a grayish, angular stone, and is used in a variety of applications where compaction is important.The angular pieces will “lock together”. Common uses for limestone are on driveways (57 limestone) and a base for pavers (411 limestone).
Gravel is rounded stone that displays many different colors and textures and can be used in some decorative applications but is more commonly used on walkways (8 pea gravel) or around above ground swimming pools (57 gravel).
