How does Kurtz Beneficially Reuse Industrial Byproducts?

Partnership

Today, a segment of social responsibility within an organization is comprised of “green” or sustainable planning initiatives. Using Kurtz’ expertise to develop strategic waste-to-reuse plans for efficiently managing your company’s waste streams can positively effect your bottom line.  Let Kurtz show you how we can increase cost-savings on waste stream disposal fees.

Are you throwing away recyclables?

When organizations take a closer look at operations, they are often surprised to learn that a high percentage of commonly disposed materials are, in actuality, good candidates for the beneficial reuse process. Kurtz Bros., Inc. will help classify waste streams and qualify them for beneficial reuse opportunities.  Please call 216-986-9000 to discuss your unique situation and examine all beneficial reuse possibilities.

Who are our customers?

Any company generating a non-hazardous byproduct or waste stream is a candidate for beneficial reuse options and hence, has an opportunity to establish a greener company. Our current customer base ranges from companies in the automotive sector, metal casting, construction/demolition and manufacturing industries. Over time, a business relationship with Kurtz Bros., Inc. often progresses in new directions. For over two decades, Ford Motor Company has exemplified such a transition; Kurtz Bros., Inc. has successfully recycled over 6 million tons of spent foundry sand from Ford, and the Kurtz-Ford relationship still continues growth, today. Just like with Ford, Kurtz Bros., Inc. continually looks to build, expand and sustain long-term business relationships. Whether it is by manufacturing mulch from wood scraps or by diverting spent foundry sand from the landfill, today Kurtz continues to make strides to promote environmental sustainability. Our Material Reclamation Facility segregates material into various waste streams.

Kurtz accepts organic, construction and industrial byproduct waste streams:

• Soil • Sand • Slag • Fly ash • Metals • Plastics • Asphalt • Shingles • Skids • Wood

• Sawdust • Tree trimmings • Dust • Liquids • Concrete • Tires • Electronics • Bricks

• Shrubs • Cardboard • Paper • Raw Soil

Process:

(1)  UNDERSTAND. We begin first by gaining an understanding of what a manufacturer builds or produces.

(2)  IDENTIFY. Identify any naturally occurring waste streams.

(3)  SAMPLE. Samples are tested to “qualify” the waste material.

(4)  DEFINE. Cost-efficient beneficial reuse options for your waste streams are defined.

(5)  PLAN. Finally, after understanding the flow of goods and materials through the organization, a plan is constructed outlining beneficial options
